We're shutting down Dogshood.

This is the hardest letter I've had to write.

Maybe your dog already wears one of our harnesses. Or maybe you've only seen us in your feed, while you were still fighting the leash every morning.

Either way, you deserve to hear this from me first.

Dogshood is closing.

We started as a small team with one goal: better walks for you and your dog.

It began with my own dog, Simba, who dragged me down the street every single morning.

And thanks to dog owners like you, it grew, a lot.

But then we found out that a mega-corporation in the pet industry owns the trademark to a name very close to ours.

Close enough to come after us.

On their side: a legal department, deep pockets and all the time in the world.

On ours: a small team and a business we built with our own hands and a lot of love.

And to be honest, a fight like that isn't won in court.

It's won by whoever can afford to keep going.

So we had a choice.

Pour everything we have into lawyers.

Or put it where it belongs: into you and your dog.

We chose you.

So we're letting go of the name.

On our own terms.

It hurts. I won't pretend it doesn't. But...
